Imoto sushi4/11/2023 ![]() ![]() This year, two new high-end restaurants opened in reductive celebration of half the world’s cuisines: Imoto (Japanese for “little sister”) and Musume (Japanese for “daughter”). Now, however, Dallas is seeing a comeback. There wasn’t even time for anyone to ask why “pan-Asian” menus never included food from Muslim cultures. Luckily America’s pan-Asian craze shone brightly in the Clinton administration and then died out, leaving only the faintest memory that, once upon a time, wasabi mashed potatoes were a thing. After ordering from an extensive ceviche bar, dressy-casual customers would scoop up queso with injera and share a case of Foster’s. They could serve empanadas, tagine and clam chowder. tweet this I wonder if people in Asia have pan-everywhere-else restaurants. persist because Dallas investors are unwilling to hand big dollars and downtown real estate deals to immigrant restaurateurs. ![]() Let’s go to a restaurant that serves samplings of the cuisines that four billion people eat, and decide when we get there.” Maybe one of the foods enjoyed by 60 percent of the world’s population, but I can’t narrow it down more than that.” Maybe they were the product of diners without a drop of Asian blood in their veins having conversations like this: Not too sweet but just sweet enough! Cannot wait to try their green tea ice cream and thai donuts (yum!!!)! Overall, PLEASE support your local business and COME here! This place is way too good to only have 14 reviews.I don’t understand how pan-Asian restaurants became popular. I tried their home made red bean ice cream and it was SOOO GOOD. They offer literally some of my favorite things from every Asian culture… summer rolls, krab wontons, ramen, udon noodles, thai dishes, fried rices dishes, sushi, bento boxes… it truly is a fusion of so many different types of foods and flavors! We are way too excited to try more next week. You can get the fried rice WITHOUT curry if you choose!) We took a menu to bring home because they also deliver ( YES!!) and I was just so surprised at everything they offered. We were surprised to see it had curry in it (my boyfriend was super excited because he loves curry, i was a little nervous because i… really don’t like curry) BUT it was an extremely pleasant surprise! The mix of curry, pineapples, tofu, cashews etc… was actually an incredible flavor that I’ve fallen in love with myself! I never thought I would like curry, but I’m mad I didn’t get to eat more! The boyfriend ate the entire plate and left me a couple of of spoonfuls… something we will have to get again next week. We also ordered the pineapple fried rice with fried tofu. The noodles were also perfectly cooked, it was as if the chef himself knew exactly what I wanted. The flavors were incredibly on point and it had all of the best aspects of what ramen should be, from the hard boiled eggs to the krab chunks. The boyfriend and I both had the shrimp ramen with miso broth. ![]() It is super clear that they all love and are passionate for what they do. One thing that I really took from this place, besides the delicious food, was how much the employees and the owner care for their restaurant. We came in originally because of the other awesome reviews and saw they had ramen! Instant decision to come in! I haven’t been to a good ramen place in a lonnng time and if you’re craving for it, GO HERE! Immediately we were greeted by the friendliest cashier and the owner herself! They both helped us choose what we want (even though I immediately knew what I was going to get). There’s seating inside and outside, and both are VERY nice! Especially with the cooler weather coming in. I’ve passed by this place so many times while running errands and I am SO mad at myself for not coming sooner! This is definitely our new take out/eat out joint! You have three options: Take out, Delivery, or eat in. ![]() We don’t live in the area but it is close enough for when we are around it - even if we just stop in for the appetizers. Of course we couldn’t finish it all so had it for lunch the next day - and yep, it was still great! I would highly recommend this place and we will be back. It was not salty but had a ton of flavor. You could taste the difference in the quality of the food. My husband ordered the fried rice with shrimp and then we did two appetizers– shrimp tempura rolls and fried cheese wontons and the wonton soup - and two teas. I ordered the white rice with teriyaki chicken and veggies. She made sure we were happy with our food and just had a great conversation with her overall. She talked with us in between customers coming in for take out. If you have time I would recommend eating there. It is a small place and they do mostly take out, however they do have some tables inside to sit and eat. It is in a shopping center with several other restaurants. What a great place for dinner! This is not a chain place. ![]()
